Our Mission Statement:
We at Presentation Primary endeavour to create a caring community where management, staff, parents and children respect, value and appreciate each other. We promote a happy, healthy environment that provides opportunities for the full harmonious development of each child; physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. Every opportunity will be given to enable the children to discover their talents, their uniqueness and their giftedness. We foster their spiritual growth through the implementation of our Religious Education Programme, through daily prayer and weekly Christian meditation and through preparation for the Sacraments and the celebration of various church feasts.
Vision for Presentation Primary:
A CATHOLIC SCHOOL
- fully inclusive with a caring atmosphere, where all children are happy and safe
- where facilities and a curriculum are available that provide for the total development of the child (spiritually, emotionally, physically and academically)
- which is outward looking, open to new ideas and programmes
- where partnership and communication are important values.
The school also benefits from having a supportive Board of Management who meet monthly under the chair of Ms. Mary O' Keeffe.
We are also fortunate to have a very committed and enthusiastic Parents Association, the members of which help out with various extra-curricular activities on a regular basis, (Check out

School History:
Presentation Primary School has been part of life here in Carrick-on-Suir for over 200 years. In 2013 we celebrated the Bicentenary year of the founding of the school.
It all began on May 3rd. 1813 when four Sisters - Mother Jane de Chantal Power, Srs. M.Paul Dwyer,Mary de Sales Bourke and Mary Peter Smyth, arrived from the Waterford House, at the request of Dr. Power Bishop of Waterford and Lismore, to start a foundation of Presentation Sisters here in the town.
In 1890 the Primary School was erected and the old school was converted into living quarters for the Sisters.
In 1891 the Convent Chapel was built. At different times from 1901 to 1974 plots of ground and various buildings were purchased and some buildings were reconstructed to accommodate the increased number of pupils.
In 1962 the Assembly Hall block with classrooms was erected. A Boarding School was opened in 1967 and closed in 1974 when the schools in Carrick-on-Suir were amalgamated - Presentation Sisters taking the primary pupils and Mercy Sisters taking the secondary pupils.
On May 8th. 1992 a new Presentation Primary School was offically opened to continue the contribution of the Presentation Sisters to the life of Carrick-on-Suir.
Today's pupils enjoy their schooling in a bright, well maintained, comfortable building where a caring and friendly atmosphere permeates the whole school. Our pupils are fortunate to benefit from an Interactive Whiteboard in every classroom.
Presentation Primary School in Carrick advances a broad and varied curriculum, where the individuality of each child, including children with special educational needs,is recognised and respected.Pupils enjoy weekly swimming lessons in the local Sean Kelly pool.
Camogie, basketball, athletics and soccer are now also a very valuable and enjoyable part of our school programme.
